1. Buy from the brand or an authorised dealer

2. Check the serial number

The serial number on the inverter label should match the box and the warranty card. Missing, scratched or mismatched serials are a red flag.

3. Get a proper invoice and warranty card

4. Watch out for prices that are too low

If a price is far below what others charge, ask why. Very cheap “new” inverters may be refurbished, old stock or copies.

5. Inspect the box and the unit

Look for proper branding, sealed packaging, a clean body and a correct label. Scratches, loose screws or dust inside the box can mean a used unit.
